Rural Thais forming the bulk of the "Red Shirt" Protest movement have been camping out for several weeks in a posh shopping district in Bangkok to demand the dissolution of the current government which they view as illegitimate. The atmosphere in which the protests are taking place is increasingly tense as street violence around the protest site grows more common.
